(No one does miserable better than Yorkshire).<\/p>\n<p>I suggest a motorised club run from Edale, taking a picnic lunch to eat while we are waiting for the Tour. Meet at Edale car park 11:00 hrs and ride out to see the Tour between Langsett and Bradfield on the run in to the finish.<\/p>\n<p>Distances Edale to Bradfield &#8211; 18 miles (The Saturday riders could manage this)<br \/>\nCongleton to Edale via Buxton (for the hard riders) &#8211; 29 miles<br \/>\nOrdinary people can drive to Edale, hard riders can ride from Congleton.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at the timings<br \/>\nThe official web sites say the roads will be closed 10 &#8211; 12 hours beforehand<br \/>\nBut &#8230; Cyclists will be allowed access until the roads are handed over to the tour organisers.<\/p>\n<p>Schedule &#8211; working backwards<br \/>\nTour de France 15:50<br \/>\nPublicity caravan 13:45<br \/>\nWe need to be in place before 13:00<br \/>\nLeave Edale at 11:00 &#8211; this will give people time to pick up food in Hope<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<hr align=\"center\" size=\"2\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Watching the Tour de France is Total Anti-climax, but that is what cyclists do.
